WHO + WHY
Owner and winemaker Giuseppe Russo will be at Locanda all night long, pouring his wines and chatting with you about Girolamo Russo and Sicily.
The winery, founded in 2005 in memory of his late father, is in the village of Passopisciaro on the north face of Mount Etna.
The vineyards are planted up high, in mineral-rich volcanic soil, surrounded by olive and hazelnut groves. This unique terrior gives Girolamo Russo’s signature Nerello Mascalese wines a wonderful balance of structure and finess. The wines are fruity without being overly ripe and the minerality, and earthiness of the terroir truly shine through.
Chef Melissa is channeling Italy’s southernmost region with a killer 4-course menu, alongside our full regular daily-changing menu. Check out the menu and optional wine pairing below.
